Bar hours lean toward evening and night; the load shifts on port days according to the voyage schedule. Stock counts and opening-closing routines are part of the shift.

Is a cocktail certificate required?
Not required, but it makes a difference. Without one, the length of your bar experience and the type of venue you worked in are assessed instead.
Am I responsible for the till?
On most ships the bar till is counted at the end of the shift and recorded. It is one of the routine responsibilities expected of you; how it works is set out in the ship's procedure.
